Life Groups

Fred Rogers was known for closing his talks with a reflective moment, encouraging his audience to take a minute and think about someone who helped shape who they are. He spoke of those who, in his words, “smiled you into smiling, people who have talked you into talking, sung you into singing, loved you into loving” (Fred Rogers, quoted by Montague, 2020, p. 157).

The Need for Reflection and Encouragement

There are two key takeaways from Fred Rogers’ words:

  1. We need space to reflect.

  2. We all need encouragement from others.

Life groups at Faith Church bring these two worlds together. In a life group, you find space to reflect, encouragement from others, and a place to grow. Life groups are the heart of Faith Church, and we invite you to consider joining one.

A Call to Life Group Leaders

If you feel called to lead, now is the time. Faith Church always needs more life group leaders—you may never know the difference you could make by taking this step. Leading is challenging, but it also brings great rewards. If God is stirring your heart, consider stepping into this role.

Looking Back to the Early Church

The early church began with small groups of believers, gathered by leaders committed to living out Jesus’s teachings together. The Book of Acts describes this first community:

“All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer…They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity.”
(Acts 2:42-47, NLT)
